Cycle Against The Traffik
3rd- 18th of September
With an estimated 27 million people held as slaves in the world today and human trafficking being the fastest growing means by which people are enslaved, Cycle Against The Traffik is an initiative that uses the love of cycling to raise awareness of human trafficking and provide opportunities for people to join the fight against slavery.
The Cycle Against The Traffik Tour 2010 will take in 1038 km along the scenic route of the Princes Highway between Sydney and Melbourne. At each town along the route, riders will be available to give a presentation to school, religious and other community groups on modern slavery and human trafficking. Any funds raised through the tour will help support a shelter in Malaysia for women and children rescued from slavery.
There are numerous opportunities for how individuals and groups can become involved in fighting human trafficking either through support of the ride itself, joining us at one of our Celebration of Freedom events in Sydney, Dandenong and Melbourne, or through ongoing anti-trafficking campaigns of our partner organisations……
